Horseshoe magnets were originally made to compensate for the strength of bar magnets by making both ends of the magnet point in the same direction, the strength of the magnet basically doubles. It comes with a Magnet Keeper. A Magnet Keeper is placed across the poles of a magnet to help preserve the strength of the magnet by completing the magnetic circuit.
